Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Adaptus: NCLEX Prep (“Adaptus,” “the app,” “we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Adaptus is operated by Taisen Industries LLC. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. Passwords are hashed before storage and are never stored or visible to us in plain text. We use this information to authenticate you and manage your account.

Study and progress data

As you practice, we collect your quiz responses, session activity, response times, scores, streaks, and adaptive ability estimates. This data powers the app’s core features: personalized question selection, progress tracking, readiness estimates, and the ability to resume a session.

Purchase information

If you buy the one-time lifetime unlock, the purchase is processed by Apple through in-app purchase. We receive Apple’s transaction record (such as the transaction identifier and product purchased) so we can verify the purchase and unlock premium access. We never receive or store your payment card or billing details — Apple handles all payment processing.

Diagnostic and crash data

We use Sentry, a third-party error-monitoring service, to collect crash reports and technical diagnostics (such as device model, operating system version, and app version) that help us find and fix problems. Before any report leaves your device, we remove personally identifying details: authentication headers are stripped and your identity is reduced to an opaque account identifier used only to correlate reports. We do not send your email or other personal profile data to Sentry.

Information stored on your device

Some data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us, including your theme preference and a local cache of your current session. Your authentication token is stored in your device’s secure storage (the iOS Keychain). Uninstalling the app removes this local data.

We do not use advertising or behavioral analytics. Adaptus contains no ad networks, no marketing trackers, and no analytics SDKs. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

How we use your information

To provide, maintain, and improve the app and its features
To personalize question difficulty and study recommendations based on your performance
To save your progress and let you resume sessions across devices
To verify purchases and grant premium access
To diagnose, fix, and prevent crashes and technical issues
To respond to your support requests

Service providers

We share data only with the service providers needed to run the app, and only as necessary for them to perform their service:

Railway — cloud hosting and database where your account and progress data are stored. (privacy policy)
Apple — payment processing for in-app purchases and app distribution. (privacy policy)
Sentry — crash reporting and error monitoring. (privacy policy)
Expo — infrastructure for delivering app updates. (privacy policy)

Data storage and security

All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption.
Passwords are hashed server-side and never stored in plain text.
Authentication tokens are kept in device-level secure storage.
Your account and progress data are stored on servers operated by Railway in the United States.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your account and study data for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us at the address below. We will delete your personal data within 30 days of verifying your request, except where we are required to retain certain records (such as purchase records) to comply with law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and personal data
Request a copy of your study data

Children’s privacy

Adaptus is intended for nursing students and other adults preparing for the NCLEX. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

International users

Adaptus is operated from the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States. If you use the app from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
